los jovenes pueden solicitar ayuda economica al CIMPA que cubre casi todos

Dear Colleagues:
The Mathematics Department of the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas (UAZ),
the Centro de Investigación en Matemáticas A.C. (CIMAT), and the Centre
International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées (CIMPA) invite you to
participate in the CIMPA Research School “Commutative Algebra with
applications to Statistics and Coding Theory”, to take place from june 25th
to july 6th 2018 at UAZ, Zacatecas, Mexico.
The purpose of the school is to present both basic aspects of commutative
algebra as well as more advanced tools focused on applications to
combinatorics, coding theory and statistics. We intend to provide the
participants with the basic knowledge on the combinatorics of binomial
ideals and its relations with coding theory and algebraic statistics
problems.
The School will consist of six courses, which will be imparted in English:
Combinatorics of binomial and toric ideals, Fatemeh Mohammadi
(University of Bristol, UK).
Syzygies and monomial ideals, Daniel Erman (University of Wisconsin).
Algebraic-geometric codes, Trygve Johnsen (Norges Arktiske Universitet).
Toric codes, Johan Hansen (Aarhus University Denmark).
The role of algebraic statistics in estimation and modeling of random
graphs and networks, Sonja Petrovic (Illinois Institute of Technology)
Algebraic Statistics and Applications to Biology, Seth Sullivant (North
Carolina State University)
There will also be discussion sessions, talks and a poster session.
Students and researchers from all the world are welcome to participate.
There will be financial support for participants from Mexico and developing
countries. Those from outside Mexico wishing to apply for financial support
must do it before February 18, 2018, following the instructions found in:

El departamento de Matemáticas de la Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas
(UAZ), el Centor de Investigación en Matemáticas A.C (CIMAT) y el Centre

participar en la CIMPA Research School “Commutative Algebra with
applications to Statistics and Coding Theory”, que se realizara del 25 de
junio al 6 de julio de 2018 en la UAZ, Zacatecas, Mexico.
Esta escuela en inglés está dirigida principalmente a estudiantes de
posgrado y jóvenes investigadores de todo el mundo, principalmente de
Latinoamérica; aunque también estudiantes de los últimos años de pregrado
en México, dependiendo de su perfil pueden participar. El evento consta de
seis cursos, los cuales son:

los gastos de alojamiento y alimentos para los participantes aceptados,
esto dependerá de los recursos con que contemos.
