The Mathematics Department of the Universidad Autónoma de
Zacatecas (UAZ), the Centro de Investigación en Matemáticas
A.C. (CIMAT), and the Centre International de Mathématiques
Pures et Appliquées (CIMPA) invite you to participate in the
CIMPA Research School “Commutative Algebra with applications
to Statistics and Coding Theory”, to take place from june
25th to july 6th 2018 at UAZ, Zacatecas, Mexico.<br>

The purpose of the school is to present both basic aspects
of commutative algebra as well as more advanced tools
focused on applications to combinatorics, coding theory and
statistics. We intend to provide the participants with the
basic knowledge on the combinatorics of binomial ideals and
its relations with coding theory and algebraic statistics
problems.<br>

The School will consist of six courses, which will be
imparted in English:<br>

Combinatorics of binomial and toric ideals, Fatemeh

Syzygies and monomial ideals, Daniel Erman (University
of Wisconsin).<br>

Esta escuela en inglés está dirigida principalmente a
estudiantes de posgrado y jóvenes investigadores de todo el

estudiantes de los últimos años de pregrado en México,
