 Caro Jose,

Lamento muito o falecimento de Jorge Lewowicz, que muito fez
pela matematica uruguaia e, mais globalmente, latino-americana.

Por favor, transmita a todos os colegas uruguaios meu abraco
nesta triste ocasiao.

 I regret to inform you that this saturday 2014/06/21  at 11:00 pm Dr Jorge
Lewowicz passed away. He was born in Montevideo in May, 17th, 1937.

Lewowicz was known by his kind personality and his interest in the
understanding of the meaning and relationship of Mathematics and the real
world. He was involved in topological dynamics and his achievements in the
study of expansive dynamical systems are very well known. We will miss him.
He was suffering from frequent heart failures. Finally this causes his
death.

Lamento comunicarles que este sábado a las 23 hs. falleció Jorge Lewowicz.

Se le velará el domingo a la noche en Abate, calle Basañez 1277, Montevideo,
y el lunes de 9 a 14.
