regarding
the work of the ICM Structure Committee (SC), chaired by Terence Tao. As a
reminder, the SC is charged with the task of proposing the structure for
the ICMs, while the decision of the actual speakers is left with the
Program Committee (PC).

The SC has now finalized its report outlining the Scientific Program for
ICM 2026 (attached). The report references the previous SC report from 2019

and
the PC/OC Guidelines
<https://www.mathunion.org/fileadmin/IMU/PC-OC_Guidelines_v2.pdf>. The IMU
is very grateful to the members of the SC for accomplishing their job in
such a thorough and timely manner.

The IMU Executive Committee (EC) has discussed the report and decided to
endorse the recommendations made in the report, in particular regarding the
Scientific Program for ICM 2026:

1. The EC endorses the Sections with its descriptors and with the given
base lecture Slots as described in section 4 of the report;

2. The EC endorses the proposal to leave 20 sectional talks, and one or two
plenary talks, to be assigned to special lectures as described in section
3.3 of the report.
