Scientific Researcher Position in Dynamical Systems / Extreme Value Theory

One researcher position is available within the research project  
“Limiting laws ruling dynamical systems”, reference  
PTDC/MAT-PUR/28177/2017, funded by FCT.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Mathematics or in a related field,  
completed at the time of application.

The research position is aimed at developing research in Mathematics  
within one of the following areas: Ergodic Theory or Extreme Value  
Theory, contributing to the research goals of the project “Limiting  
laws ruling dynamical systems”. For more information on the research

The position should start in December, 2018. It will have  an   
expected  duration of 30 months. The work will be developed in the  
Center of Mathematics of the University of Porto, under the  
supervision of Jorge Milhazes Freitas and Ana Cristina Freitas.

The monthly salary is 2128,34 Euros (before taxes), plus holiday and  
Christmas allowances, as well as food allowance, in value  and   
conditions  for  workers  with  a  legal relationship of employment  
under the Labour Code. There are no compulsory teaching duties  
associated with the position.
