Dear Colleagues,

As the 2018 World Cup in Russia approaches its culmination, our thoughts
are focused on making the 2022 ICM in St Petersburg an equally exciting and
successful celebration of human achievement, now in the field of
mathematics. In fact, Arkady Dvorkovich, the Head of the committee in
charge of the St Petersburg's ICM bid is also the Head of the Local
Organizing
Committee of the World Cup. Check out

there will be a visa-free entry to Russia for all participants, free
public transportation, etc. There will be a very broad financial
support, especially for young mathematicians and mathematicians from

Nealy a million fans came to Russia this Summer to discover its warm
hospitality, to experience the great positive energy of a world-wide
gathering, and to see the world best in action. We hope the same will
happen in 4 years !

We personally and the entire Russian mathematics community are eager
to welcome you to St Petersburg, the city of stunning architectural
beauty and a global cultural and intellectual center, in 2022. There was
only one ICM in the Soviet Union, in Moscow in 1966, and it would mean a
lot to Russian mathematics to host an ICM 56 years later.
