	FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

	The International Workshop on Mathematics of Climate Change and Natural Disasters will take place March 24th-28th in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil. The Workshop aims to establish a common forum for discussion of mathematical techniques and physical modelling applied to adaptation and resilience relative to weather variability and climate change, as well as to other causes of naturaldisasters. The main topics of interests are found inhttp://www.lac.inpe.br/cciarm/topics.php (http://www.lac.inpe.br/cciarm/topics.php). There will be a series of lectures to present open problems and start discussions to promote interaction among the different groups. A document will be prepared that will guide research in mathematics applied to natural disasters through international collaboration both within and externally to the network in the coming years.
