de la Universidad de Montpellier, estará durante el segundo semestre
visitándonos.

Va a dar un curso de posgrado de 7 semanas

*Categories, monads and applications.*




*1. Introduction of the basic notions about categories and functors,
adjunctions, definition of monads (which are objects of an algebraic
nature)2. Monoidal categories, that is, categories with a tensor product
(and variants with additional structures). Basic examples are the category
of vector spaces with the usual tensor product, but topology provides other
examples : the categories of braids, tangles, etc... 3. Construction of
topological invariants of knots, links and tangles.*


*4. Hopf monads, definitions and examples*


*5. The Hopf monad of the center*



*6. Hopf monads and ​T​annaka theory.7. Comparison of invariants of
3-manifolds using the Hopf monad of the center.​*
*The course is intended for graduate students. It consists in 21 hours over
about 7 weeks (2 h. of lecture + 1 h of exercices). ​This​ is a  tentative
description of the content (each item represents about one week).*

*Some chapters of the course (in particular 3, 7) will assume a basic
familiarity with topology.*
