title: The amorphic complexity of Toeplitz shifts

abstract:

The amorphic complexity is an entropy-like notion for low complexity (i.e.
zero topological entropy) dynamical systems.

In this talk, we study the amorphic complexity of regular Toeplitz shifts
(i.e., certain minimal subshifts). Here, the amorphic complexity equals the
box dimension of the corresponding maximal equicontinuous factor
$(\tau,\mathcal O)$ equipped with a metric which makes $\tau$ an isometry.
This observation allows us to compute the amorphic complexity of certain
Toeplitz flows by means of an iterated function system.
