Lecturer / Reader/ Chair in Dynamical Systems
Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Natural Sciences
Imperial College London, UK
Lecturer salary £43,350 - £48,400 per annum
Reader minimum starting salary: £53,450
Chair minimum starting salary: £68,170 per annum


Applications are invited for a Lectureship/Readership/Professorship in
Dynamical Systems with effect from January 2012 or as soon as possible
thereafter.

All candidates must have research interests in an area of Dynamical Systems.

The successful applicant will have a track record of substantial,
internationally leading research achievement in an area of Dynamical
Systems, interpreted in a broad sense. A PhD (or equivalent) in Mathematics
or a related discipline is also a pre-requisite. Experience of teaching at
undergraduate and/or postgraduate level in Dynamical Systems or a closely
related area is essential.  Leadership qualities are also required for this
post, It will be expected that the applicant has proven evidence of
independent original research activity and high quality published work in
international peer-reviewed journals. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills are essential for this post.

For appointment to Reader, in addition to the above, candidates must also
have an exceptionally strong research record in Dynamical Systems or a
closely related discipline, and a proven track record of securing research
funding. In addition, candidates appointment to Reader will be expected to
have extensive experience in postgraduate teaching and undergraduate
teaching across a range of subjects within (or close to) the field of
Dynamical Systems, together with a track record of successful postgraduate
student supervision and postdoctoral mentoring.

For appointment to the position of Chair, in addition to the additional
requirements for a Reader level appointment, candidates will also be
expected to have an international leading research record, and strong
leadership qualities in areas which enhance and extend those of the Group.
