Estimado Roberto,
Te envío un anuncio que podría ser de interés de algún estudiantes de Matemática Aplicada. Este es el tipo de cosas que yo te comentaba se pueden hacer en Cristalografía Matemática. Además quería llamarte la atención sobre el curso International School on Fundamental Crystallography (http://cryssmat.fq.edu.uy/ISFC2010) que será un curso básico de los aspectos matemáticos fundamentales de la cristalografía y podría interesar a algún estudiante de grado o posgrado de Matemática que tenga intereses aplicados.
Si te interesa con mucho gusto te puedo dar más detalles e incluso comentarte otros temas de interés en cristalografía con fuerte componente de matemática.

next  year  I'll  have a grant for a 3-year PhD project to investigate
the  structural  basis  for  the  formation of twinned crystals from a
