BECAS

1- Convocatoria de Becas para extranjeros 2010

El Gobierno de México, a través de la Dirección General de Intercambio 
Académico de la Dirección General De Asuntos Culturales ha abierto la 
Convocatoria de Becas para Extranjeros 2010. La oferta incluye diversas 
instituciones, principalmente públicas y otras privadas de relevancia, 
con oferta en la mayoría de las áreas del conocimiento.

CONDICIONES GENERALES:

Condiciones generales

Esta convocatoria permanecerá vigente como sigue:

A) Programas Bilaterales (22 de abril al 15 de agosto de 2009)

B) Programas Multilaterales (22 de abril al 15 de agosto de 2009)

C) Programas Especiales (22 de abril al 30 de octubre de 2009)

Las condiciones generales de las becas están contenidas en las Normas 
Aplicables a los Becarios Extranjeros de la SRE

PLAZO PRESENTACIÓN:

Los candidatos deberán registrar sus candidaturas en línea del 15 de 
julio al 15 de agosto del 2009.

CARACTERÍSTICAS DE LAS BECAS:

Las becas se otorgan para efectuar estudios de especialización, 
maestría, doctorado, especialidades médicas, para realizar 
investigaciones a nivel de posgrado, estancias posdoctorales, estancias 
para creación artística, prácticas profesionales, programas para 
expertos, conferencias de alto nivel y cátedras especiales para 
profesores visitantes y movilidad a nivel de posgrado.

Para estudios a nivel maestría la beca se podrá renovar hasta por 12 
meses más, para doctorado hasta por 24 meses más, al igual que las 
especialidades y subespecialidades médicas. Las becas de movilidad a 
nivel posgrado se ofrecen hasta por 6 meses. Para realizar 
investigaciones de posgrado y estancias postdoctorales la beca durará 
únicamente un año.

REQUISITOS GENERALES:

-         Presentar candidatura en la solicitud correspondiente

-         Contar con la postulación oficial del Gobierno que forma parte 
de la Solicitud

-         Tener título de licenciatura, maestría o doctorado, según el 
grado para el que se solicite la beca

-         Tener promedio mínimo de 8, en escala del 1 al 10.

-         Tener aceptación académica de la institución receptora.

-         Cumplir con los requisitos señalados en la Convocatoria

-         Para becas de movilidad de posgrado, contar con la carta de 
aceptación académica con el reconocimiento de créditos educativos

BENEFICIOS DE LAS BECAS:

-         Inscripción y colegiatura

-         Manutención equivalente a:

o       Maestría: 4 salarios mínimos $6,576.00 pesos

o       Doctorado: 5 salarios mínimos: $8,220.00 pesos

-         Seguro médico cubierto por el IMSS a partir del tercer mes de 
la beca.

-         Transporte de la Ciudad de México a la ciudad sede de la 
Institución

Los beneficiarios de las becas serán notificados entre el 1 y el 17 de 
diciembre.

2- UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme

With a view to promoting human resource capacities in the developing 
countries and to enhancing international understanding and friendship 
among nations and the people of Poland, the Polish National Commission 
for UNESCO and the AGH International Promotion Center for Technology and 
Engineering Education, are placing at the disposal of UNESCO ten (10) 
fellowships in the year 2009 for the benefit of Member States

Details regarding the fellowships offered and the criteria of selection:

The Polish authorities will make the final selection.

FIELDS OF RESEARCH

. Reservoir Geophysics for hydrocarbon and water prospecting (1 fellowship)

. Advanced ceramic materials (2 fellowships)

. Modeling of multiphase flow in natural gas condensate and volatile oil 
in porous media (EOR-CO2/EGR-CO2 models) (2 fellowships)

. Intelligent control system of operation transportation devices (2 
fellowships)

. Availability problems in transportation (systems and devices) (2 
fellowships)

. Remote sensing and GIS in land-use/land cover changes, especially in 
abandoned mine site (1 fellowship)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

i) Hold the Bachelor's or Master's Degree (depending on the field of 
studies);

ii) Be proficient in reading and writing in English;

iii) Be not more than 40 or 45 years of age (depending on the field of 
studies); and,

iv) Be in good health, both physically and mentally.

FACILITIES OFFERED BY THE POLISH AUTHORITIES

i) Free tuition;

ii) Monthly allowance of 1350 PLN zlotys (approximately US$410) 
corresponding to the salary of a local junior research fellow. Thus, all 
living expenses in Poland are to be borne by the fellows with this 
allowance; and,

iii) An installation allowance of 1350 PLN zlotys to be paid upon arrival.

No provision to finance or lodge family members is made.

At the end of the research studies, the beneficiaries will receive a 
certificate attesting to their attendance at the host institution.

FACILITIES OFFERED BY UNESCO

i) International travel expenses: (at the most economical rate) from the 
beneficiary's country to Poland and return will be covered by UNESCO 
under its Regular Programme Budget.

ii) Health insurance for fellowship beneficiaries who are declared 
medically fit: UNESCO fellowship holders may be covered by a special 
accident/health insurance policy, taken out by the Organization for the 
duration of the fellowship. The costs of the health insurance is 
subscribed to and covered by UNESCO* on behalf of the fellows.

* ONLY THE TEN SELECTED CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO SEND TO THE 
FELLOWSHIPS PROGRAMME SECTION A COMPLETE MEDICAL DOSSIER, THE PRESCRIBED 
FORM OF WHICH WILL BE SENT ALONG WITH THE LETTER OF AWARD.

VISA

Selected fellows from countries where there are Polish Embassies or 
Consulates will have to obtain their entry visa in their country prior 
to their departure. Fellows from countries where no such 
Embassy/Consulate exists must secure their visa through the nearest 
Embassy of Poland.

UNESCO/POLAND provide no allowance to defray passport and visa expenses 
and the selected beneficiaries will have to secure themselves their own 
visa..

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FILES

One candidature per invited Member State for each of the fields of 
research specified. Original applications in duplicate must be 
channelled through the National Commission for UNESCO of the candidate's 
country and reach Mr. A. Zaid (pl. see covering letter) by 15 May 2009 
at the latest. An advance copy of the application may be sent by fax 
(33.1) 45.68.55.03. Applications should have imperatively the following 
attachments in DUPLICATE:

i) UNESCO fellowship application forms, duly completed in English;

ii) Two photographs attached to the applications (4x6 cm);

iii) Certified copies (in English or French) of Bachelor's or Master's 
Degree obtained; and

iv) The UNESCO certificates of language knowledge, duly completed by a 
relevant authority, if the mother tongue of the candidate is not English.

DEADLINE

15 May 2009 at the latest

IMPORTANT

It is the National authority's responsibility to ensure that all 
candidates are duly informed of the above conditions prior to the 
submission of applications.

Files which are incomplete or which are received after the deadline as 
well as candidatures that do not fulfil the requirements will not be 
taken into consideration.

Only the selected candidates will receive a letter through their 
respective National Commissions for UNESCO.
