            ISTEC Inaugura Centro de Educación Continua ISTEC Opens Center for Continuing Education 
            ISTEC anunció hoy la creación de CECi (Centro de Educación Continua de ISTEC), que funcionará bajo la Iniciativa ACE y que centralizará las actividades de capacitación del Consorcio en modalidades virtual, presencial y mixta.

            Entre los objetivos que persigue CECi se encuentra el ofrecer programas de capacitación y formación en temas vanguardistas, así como en áreas que apoyen el trabajo realizado por las otras iniciativas de ISTEC. El Centro también trabajará en la creación de estándares de calidad para cursos virtuales y a distancia, así como en la investigación y desarrollo en el área de educación y tecnologías.

            Mediante alianzas con instituciones miembro de ISTEC y otras organizaciones de prestigio, CECi ofrecerá también cursos de actualización con valor curricular a nivel regional en diferentes áreas del conocimiento. De acuerdo con Carmen Ricardo - Directora de la Iniciativa ACE y Directora del Centro, "CECi no sólo facilitará el logro de la misión de ISTEC, sino que también ayudará a crear una comunidad internacional de aprendizaje fortalecida por la participación de los miembros de las instituciones educativas, los directores de Iniciativa de ISTEC, y en general de toda la comunidad iberoamericana".

            La oferta académica del CECi incluye cursos de formación gratuitos y pagados dependiendo de la naturaleza y duración de los cursos. Por otra parte, además de recibir descuentos en el precio de inscripción; estudiantes, profesores y personal vinculado a universidades miembros de ISTEC, podrán optar a becas de capacitación que en un futuro se espera que incluyan además becas de postgrado en diferentes universidades de la región.

Si está interesado en recibir información adicional sobre oportunidades de colaboración con el Centro contacte a la Oficina Ejecutiva de ISTEC en ceci en istec.org  ISTEC announced today the creation of its Center for Continuing Education known as CECi that will function under the ACE Initiative, and will centralize educational activities of the Consortium including virtual, on-site and mixed trainings.

            CECi intends to offer training programs in vanguard topics, as well as in areas that support the work of other ISTEC Initiatives. The Center will also work on the creation of quality standards for online and distance education courses, and will promote research and development in the area of technologies and education.

            Through partnerships with ISTEC member institutions and other renowned organizations of the region, CECi will also offer specialized courses with curricular value in different areas. According to Carmen Ricardo - Director of the ACE Initiative and Director of the Center, "CECi will not only enable the fulfillment of ISTEC's mission, but it will also help to create an international learning community strengthen by the active participation of ISTEC members, Initiative Directors, and in general by the Ibero-American community".

            CECi's academic offering includes complimentary and paid programs depending on the scope and duration of each course. Furthermore, besides receiving discounted registration prices; students, faculty and staff related to ISTEC member institutions will also be eligible for training scholarships that in the near future will also include fellowships to pursue graduate studies in various universities in the region.
