CALL FOR PAPERS

The Space Ops Academy, following the Summer School on the same topics
hosted by the Telespazio Fucino Space Center (Avezzano - italy), organizes
the International Workshop on Numerical Methods in Astrodynamics that will
be held in the ancient Castle of Celano (close to the Fucino Space Center)
on the 14th and 15th of July, 2008.
The Workshop is aimed to offer the opportunity for all the participants to
exchange information and share the results of their own research and applications
in the Astrodynamics field with a particular focus on numerical methods.
Papers are sought from all areas of research and application in Astrodynamics,
including but not limited to:

*	Mission design
*	Trajectory optimization
*	Navigation and orbit determination and control
*	Space Manifold Dynamics

Also scholars are invited to participate and contribute with a paper to the conference.
In particular, the active participation of young scholars (Ph.D. students and scholars
who have finished their Ph.D. within the last three years) is welcome.
Submission of a paper grants permission for the organizers to include it in the conference
material and to place it on the School conference web site.
The SpaceOpsAcademy scientific committee will evaluate the chance to publish the best
results by a qualified international editor.

GUEST SPEAKERS
*	Edward Belbruno, Princeton University
*	Bruce Conway, University of Illinois
*	Paolo Teofilatto, University of Rome "La Sapienza"
*	Stefano Lagrasta, SpaceOps Academy - Telespazio

The deadline for short (less than 200 words) abstract submission is:
June 20th, 2008

Papers from invited speakers will be accepted a priori, while notification of
acceptance for all other papers (based on the submitted abstracts) will be notified
by June 25th.

Should the number of accepted papers be large enough to exceed the available presentation
slots, a poster session will be organized.

BACKGROUND ABOUT Space OPS Academy

The Space Operations Academy, promoted by Telespazio as "institutional partner"
aims to share the technological culture of innovation in the strategic fields of
spaceflight dynamics, ground segment, integration of satellite capabilities,
satellite navigation, integrated connectivity and earth observation. In these fields
of applications the Academy makes available a reservoir of experience and excellence
to promote a knowledge network among industries, universities, research centers,
Agencies and Institutions, to bridge international experiences, facilitate the diffusion
of scientific results, enable links within multidisciplinary sectors, "bring to a system"
the know-how of mission design, space operations and earth observation.
Within this framework SpaceOps Academy organized on October 2007at Fucino Space center the
international workshop "Novel Spaceways for Scientific and Exploration Missions",
whose proceedings are going to be published by Springer NY-US.
