TWAS-ROLAC FIRST REGIONAL CONFERENCE OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS:
Promoting Life Sciences for Sustainable Development.

2-6 September 2006.

Angra dos Reis, Brazil.

Together with the TWAS 10th General Conference, TWAS 17th General 
Meeting, and TWNSO 9th General Assembly, TWAS will hold the TWAS-ROLAC 
First Regional Conference of Young Scientists (RCYS): Promoting Life 
Sciences for Sustainable Development.

The general aim of the conference is to bring together a group of the 
most talented young researchers pursuing fundamental (basic) research in 
biological sciences to share experiences and to present their research 
results to leading senior scientists in the field, including Fellows of 
the Academy of Sciences in the Developing World (TWAS) in the region.

The conference also aims to encourage the pursuit of excellence in basic 
life sciences, and to recognize and support the best young researchers 
in the field through open competition and peer review

Applications to attend the conference are invited from young scientists 
(under the age of 40) pursuing fundamental research in life sciences. 
Application forms should be submitted electronically, by email, to 
ys en twas.org.br.

Selected participants will be provided accommodation and meals for the 
period 1 - 6 September 2006, covering the period of both the Young 
Scientists Conference and the TWAS General Conference.

CONCURSO DE PASANTÍAS DE INVESTIGACIÓN EN IBEROAMERICA

Red Iberoamericana de Bioinformática (RIB) tiene el agrado de anunciar 
el Concurso de Pasantías de Investigación en todo el área 
Iberoamericana. Dicho concurso financia el

traslado aéreo en cualquier país de Iberoamerica, así como los gastos de 
estadía y viáticos mientras dure su investigación.
