Nos complace anunciar la Escuela Latino Americana de Teoría de la
Información y Estadística 2026 (2026 Latin American School of Information
Theory + Statistics (LASITS 2026)), que se llevará a cabo del 3 al 7 de
agosto de 2026 en CIMAT, Guanajuato, México.

Esta escuela está dirigida a estudiantes de licenciatura, en sus últimos
semestres, de posgrado, así como a personas en etapa posdoctoral
interesadas en teoría de la información, estadística y áreas afines. El
evento brindará la oportunidad de interactuar con especialistas
internacionales a través de cursos cortos y sesiones de discusión, además
de presentar trabajos de investigación en formato póster.
La escuela se realiza en memoria del Dr. Mario Díaz; por ello, los temas
centrales giran en torno a la teoría de la probabilidad y el aprendizaje
automático confiable, áreas en las que realizó importantes contribuciones.
Entre los ponentes confirmados se encuentran:

We are pleased to announce the *Latin American School of Information Theory
and Statistics 2026 (LASITS 2026)*, which will take place from *August 3–7,
2026*, at *CIMAT in Guanajuato, Mexico*.

This school is aimed at advanced undergraduate students (in their final
semesters), graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers interested in
information theory, statistics, and related fields. The event will provide
an opportunity to interact with leading international experts through short
courses and discussion sessions, as well as to present research work in a
poster format.

The school is held in memory of *Dr. Mario Díaz*; accordingly, the main
themes focus on probability theory and reliable machine learning, areas to
which he made significant contributions.
